Both Oddworld PSN games priced @ $9.99 each

Lorne Lanning himself yesterday (10/19/2009) posted on the playstation US blog about the prices of the game and confirming as we already knew the release of both oddworld classics to the PSN network. He also confirmed the price of $9.99 each. So no $5.99, oh well, they are great games and I'm getting both anyway. He also spent some time and answered other bloggers questions and replied in person to different people who had questions for him. He said he rarely posts in blogs but he wanted to do this as a way to promote the games coming to the PSN.

If only he answered my questions as to whether they will be able to play on the PSP...

Excellent stuff, thanks for the heads up!

His blog seems rather strange as the Abe games never really disappeared, you could always play them on pc. But hey, he seems genuinely excited to see the Abe games come back to sony. On the other hand, is it me or did he just said in the comments MO and SW could hit the PSN too?

I noticed that too. I think if it happens it would have to be the PS3 PSN, not released for PSP verison because of the games.

Could he be talking about our forums?

Regarding next gen oddworld he says,
"We’ve talked about it and would like to do it. We have seriously considered using the Stranger engine to do just this. Some work being done on the tech now. Will see how it goes, but will have to come after our current project."

And he says,
"But we’re far from done with Oddworld. Just taking us awhile to get back to it and we’ve currently got a an extremely full schedule with the new stuff."

Yes. AO and AE were ported to the PC from the beginning.

They couldn't release MO or SW on PSN, could they? They're very long games, after all...hope they do, though. And hey, the part about the "extremely full schedule" sounds promising, doesn't it?

Ofcourse they can! You just have to download a day longer, and have some more room on your HDD.

I don't know about this extremely full schedule. I mean, we haven't seen anything for a long time. They were working on citizen siege, that is now on hold, they were working on the oddworld movie that is on hold, everything oddworld is on hold. What to expect now from them in the next couple of months?

I think that GlukkonGluk meant that they would be very expensive to convert from Xbox/PC to PSN.

As for everything being on hold; where have you heard officially that CS or the Oddworld movie are on hold? The best we know at the moment is that still they're working on them but it's taking longer than expected.

We all know that the oddworld games are great, but why do you think sony chose premium pricing for these 2 games? There are very few premium priced PSone games. What do you think ?

man, I should have read furthur into it, I was expectin it on the UK store today, just US i guess but at least its definatly for PS3 and PSP, I'm not sure if PSP had been 100% confirmed but it is now,
just gonna have to keep waitin here I suppose

Yeah, I was under the impression that this news was a year old to you guys, and four years old to me. The first time I heard about it I thought 'This has development hell written all over it'. I'm not too upset. Maybe they'll start working on something less cliche.
